Fight to End Alzheimers

As a digital marketing agency focused on senior living, we believe that Markentum has a responsibility to be involved in advocating for our seniors, especially given the unique challenges that they face. One of the toughest challenges (for them and all of us) is the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

With 1 in 3 seniors dying with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, this disease kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.

For this reason, Markentum makes a yearly commitment to be involved in the Fight to End ALZ through activism and fundraising. By working directly with the senior housing industry, we are aware of the impact of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, and Markentum is proud to give back and be involved with the work of the Alzheimer's Association.

We want to share a little more about both the Alzheimer's Association and how we will be involved in 2021!

Care & Support, Research, and Advocacy 🧠

The three key pillars of the Alzheimer's Association are care & support, research, and advocacy. As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care and research, the Alzheimer's Association is working hard towards a world without Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. This organization has helped Markentum understand what we are facing in dealing with this disease and the positive next steps that we can take right now to help in the fight to end Alz. The Alzheimer's Association team has also met with the Markentum team to answer questions and brainstorm with us on how we can use our creative powers for good.

This year, we are excited to announce that our very own, Ryan Blanco, VP of Strategic Growth, is involved in a leadership role as the 2021 Volusia County Walk Committee Co-Chair. Last year, Ryan was recognized as a Champion for the Walk to End Alz event because of the donations he raised. We know that Ryan will do an excellent job this year and are excited to have someone on our team who is willing to take on this role.

The Longest Day | June 20, 2021 💜

The next event that the Alzheimer's Association is promoting that Markentum is excited to be involved with is The Longest Day. This day focused on people participating in various challenges and activities to raise support and awareness for Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia and their caretakers. Time can feel painfully long for those with Alzheimer's and those who work with them. These long hours can be exhausting.

triangleThe purpose of The Longest Day is, first and foremost, to say we see you and are thankful for you.

Markentum also uses this day to launch our Fight to End Alz campaign for the year. We encourage our team members to share the news and invite our friends and family to get involved! Markentum's "The Longest Day" event incorporates some fun pro tips on how you can keep your brain healthy, so be sure to follow us on social media to see what we are talking about.

Our most significant involvement happens during the Walk to End Alz event. With last year being substantially altered due to the pandemic, we have embraced the idea that we can walk anywhere for anyone and everyone facing this terrible disease. Markentum team members are now located in Florida, Colorado, New York, and British Columbia, and we encourage everyone to get out and walk on behalf of those impacted by Alzheimer's.

If you are looking for a team to join, look no further! We gladly welcome you to walk with us in our Fight to End Alz. Nobody should have to face this disease alone. Whatever our team raises, Markentum matches. Our walk date this year will be November 13th, 2021!

JOIN US: WALK TO END ALZ 2021

Whoever you are, wherever you are, join us in the Fight to End Alz! We, as humans, have overcome obstacles in the face of terrible odds, and we, at Markentum, believe that we can do that again with this disease. If you have a story to share with us about your fight against Alzheimer's, we would love to hear it. Send us a message, and we will encourage each other in the Fight to End Alz!
