WHAT WE'RE READING:
A book about the best worst movie ever made. This book goes through the life of Greg Sestero and his relationship with Tommy Wiseau, the creator, director, and lead actor in the film The Room. The Room was released in 2003 and shortly achieved a cult status following. The Disaster Artist starts from when Greg and Tommy first meet and shows the journey from friendship to the behind-the-scenes of The Room, one of the most chaotic and intense filmings in history.
If you haven't seen the movie The Room (or the movie adaption, 'The Disaster Artist' starring James [Tommy] and Dave [Greg] Franco), you should! The movie/book is a showcase of the journey of never giving up and pushing past your critics to complete your lifelong goal.

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING:
Richard Williams - Animating Movement | YouTube
A short look at Richard Williams' groundbreaking animation style that breathes life into the likes of Roger Rabbit and others with animated perspectives and techniques that were unheard of at the time. The Royal Ocean Film Society briefly touches on his incomplete magnum opus - The Thief and the Cobbler, and the documentary behind its production, Persistence of Vision. The documentary provides a dazzling amount of insight into a 30+ year passion project - that some argue was a direct precursor to Disney's Aladdin - which ultimately never came to fruition. It catalogs a production rife with amazing, deeply passionate talent and equally deep problems with finances and leadership.
Ultimately, Richard Williams never completed his masterpiece as he saw it, but is revered among animators for sharing the masterful techniques that helped him innovate in a series of lessons and classes. The specialized knowledge that helped Williams' mix real life and animated footage believably and create mind-bending pure animation sequences that stretched the limits of visual perspective trained an entire generation of new animators whose work we enjoy today.
