Learning how to sail has been on my bucket list for a while now and this August I decided to go ahead with making this dream a reality! The four day (two weekend) course was a blast and now I am certified to sail small ships. One of the best things I learned was that you can't sail right into the wind so you have to pivot back and forth to get to where you want to go! Great life lessons right there. Let's go sailing!

triangleWordCamp Orlando 2019 Conference

This conference focuses on everything WordPress. We sat in on Basics of Theme Development, even though, as a team, we have a combined 20 years of experience there are always new things to learn.

Each of us learned 3 to 5 new pieces of information that we can use to improve our development skills and process here at Markentum!

triangleThis Week's Quote

Although this quote is rather short, we believe it holds a lot of meaning. Rogers is emphasizing the importance of focusing on moving forward, rather than dwelling on the past. Sometimes, it can be helpful to reflect, but it's not helpful to constantly think about past mistakes or "what could have been" rather than focusing on "what could be" tomorrow.

triangledev.to: My VSCode shortcuts, settings, and extensions for productivity

This article goes in-depth with useful extensions for VSCode and how it can improve productivity. I found one very useful extension called VSCode Highlight Matching Tag, this extension is used for highlighting opening and closing tags for an element.

If you have tons of nested elements/code inside a container and need helping finding the closing tag the plugin will highlight it for you. Definitely helpful!
