Have a happy and safe Independence Day!

triangleIjams Nature Center | Knoxville, TN

I have been trying to make sure I get outside and go for a walk multiple times a week. I have been going to Ijams Nature Center which is an urban nature preserve along the Tennessee River.

It has 10 miles of walking and biking trails and is a great way to get outside after a long day!

triangleTake My Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez

Inspired by true events that rocked the nation, this novel follows a Black nurse in post-segregation Alabama who blows the whistle on a terrible injustice done to her patients.

“A searing and ultimately hopeful novel about (in)justice and the importance of learning from history.”

- Loreal Hiscock, Communications Manager

triangle Old Enough! | Netflix

An unscripted, Japanese reality show in which children between the ages of 2 and 5 are given everyday errands to run for their families. It is amazing to watch kids as young as three accomplish tasks on their own.

- Krizzel Aldama, Junior Web Developer
