The Traffic & Conversion Summit (T&C) describes itself as “The Premier Gathering of Digital Marketers on Planet Earth!” This conference is built entirely around digital marketing - addressing issues in the industry and offering insight into what’s working now.
The summit is focused on actionable, proven, strategic content from experts and celebrities. In addition to results, the summit offers inspiration in digital business, networking opportunities, and, of course, fun! Unfortunately, due to precautions and mandates put in place from government officials surrounding COVID-19, the 2020 Traffic & Conversion Summit, originally scheduled for March 31st through April 2nd, has been postponed to later this year.
However, the Summit decided to fill the three original summit days with their previous top well-received sessions, calling it the “Best of T&C” Watch Party.
For me, someone who did not attend the conference last year, this was such a valuable experience for them to offer. As a Social Advertising Specialist at Markentum, my goal from the Summit is to learn more about social media strategy, specifically around paid advertising, and this Watch Party was a great taste of what the full Summit will offer later this year!
WATCH PARTY STRUCTURE 💻
T&C has a convenient app set up where you can create your own schedule of events you would like to attend, find out information about the Watch Party and the upcoming Summit, and participate in Match!, their matchmaking networking program new for 2020. As of now, Match! will suggest contacts for you to get to know remotely. Come December, you will be able to meet and network in-person with businesses specifically suggested for you based on your industry and company needs.
T&C hosted this party as a Facebook Live video on their official Facebook page. They broke each day into morning and afternoon groupings and pinned the agenda in the comments for each section. They had a live host to keep spirits high and give some background information for the upcoming videos. While, the videos themselves were recordings from last year’s Summit, some of the presenters got on live and answered questions from viewers in the comments section. Plus, team members from T&C were also on live to answer any questions viewers had during the party.
To boot, items offered at the conference last year were reinstated for viewers of the Watch Party, such as a free eBook from The Harmon Brother’s called From Poop to Gold.
Each day offered about eight sessions - enough to fill an entire workday if you wanted! The sessions began at 8:30 a.m. PST and would end around 5:00 p.m. PST depending on the length of the sessions. Since they chose the “Best of T&C,” the session topics ranged in different aspects of digital marketing.
As a Social Advertising Specialist, a few of the sessions I tuned into included:
- It’s the End of Marketing As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
- The Squatty Potty Secret Sauce Revealed: Why Aiming for Viral Videos is the Wrong Approach to Marketing Your Brand
- Build a Social Media Sales Machine (with Organic Content + Paid Facebook Ads)
- The Success Gap Framework - Our Proven Method to 5X the Traffic & Growth of Your Digital Business in 18 Months or Less
- How I Grew My Net Revenue By 425% Using Social Media (A Special Presentation for Anyone Who Hates Social Media)
- How DigitalMarketer Increased In-Funnel Trial Take Rates by 700%
- 5 Things I Wish I Would've Known Eight Years Ago
All of which you can check out on their Facebook page!
WHAT’S TO COME IN DECEMBER 📆
As mentioned, T&C 2020 has been rescheduled for December 15th through 17th in San Diego. The organizers expressed that this decision considered many aspects, such as other scheduled marketing conferences and predictions around COVID-19. They are honoring tickets that had been initially purchased for March, and of course, for those who have not purchased their ticket yet, you still can!
They are still expecting 10,000 digital marketers to attend this event, which boasts 80 speakers and a whopping 108 sessions. Some of the speakers on the agenda in 2020 include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Marcus Lemonis, Chalene Johnson, and Ryan Deiss. Additionally, they will be hosting seven unique breakout sessions for like-minded professionals to share thoughts, advice, and ideas! Those tracks include:
- Big Ideas
- Agencies Only
- Digital Retailers
- Digital Advertisers
- Content Marketers
- Conversational Marketers
- Growth Hackers
In total, T&C reported that they had over 50,000 viewers tune into the sessions last week. We appreciate that they were keeping our health and safety top of mind and made the best of what could have been a bad situation.
